Dr. Medion VC Essence - Concentrated Multivitamin Serum for Radiance, Visible Pores & Early Signs of Ageing

Dr. Medion VC+ Essence is a concentrated Vitamin C serum designed to improve dullness, uneven tone, visible pores, texture and early signs of ageing while maintaining hydration and barrier comfort.

The formula combines three forms of Vitamin C — APPS, Glyceryl Ascorbate and Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate — with Vitamins E and B6, essential fatty acids, Ceramide NG and 9 amino acids. This combination provides antioxidant support, helps improve luminosity and supports normal collagen production while keeping the skin hydrated and comfortable.

The texture is light and slightly viscous, more concentrated than VC+ Lotion but easy to layer underneath moisturiser.

WHY I LIKE VC+ ESSENCE

Because it delivers a substantial Vitamin C treatment without focusing on brightening at the expense of the skin barrier.

Vitamin C supports radiance, more even-looking tone and collagen production, while Ceramide NG, amino acids, Betaine and Sodium PCA help maintain moisture and barrier function. This makes the Essence particularly useful for adult skin where dullness, dehydration, visible pores and loss of elasticity often appear together.

It is also a good option if you want the benefits of Vitamin C but prefer derivatives rather than a strongly acidic pure Ascorbic Acid serum.

THE VITAMIN C + MULTIVITAMIN COMPLEX

The hero ingredient is APPS (Trisodium Ascorbyl Palmitate Phosphate), an advanced Vitamin C derivative with both water- and lipid-compatible properties. It is combined with Glyceryl Ascorbate and Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, giving the serum three complementary forms of Vitamin C.

The formula also contains Vitamin E and a Vitamin B6 derivative, while Linoleic and Linolenic Acids provide essential fatty-acid support associated with Vitamin F.

Ceramide NG and 9 amino acids complement the vitamin complex by supporting the skin barrier and Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF). This balance between active and moisturising ingredients is what makes VC+ Essence suitable for consistent daily use rather than only occasional treatment.

For visible pores, the benefit is primarily through improving hydration, texture and skin elasticity. No serum can permanently shrink pores, but healthier, smoother and better-hydrated skin can make them appear less prominent.

VC+ LOTION vs VC+ ESSENCE

The difference is their role in the routine. VC+ Lotion is the lighter first step after cleansing, providing hydration while introducing the multivitamin complex. VC+ Essence is the more concentrated treatment step for radiance, texture, pores and early signs of ageing.

They can be used together, but VC+ Essence can also be added independently to an existing skincare routine.

WITH SPAOXY GEL

VC+ Essence can be used as a booster underneath Dr. Medion SpaOxy Gel. Apply the Essence first, allow it to settle briefly, then apply the freshly mixed carbonated gel mask over it.

This combination is particularly useful when the focus is radiance and uneven-looking skin. For a more Vitamin C-focused SpaOxy treatment, it can be paired with SpaOxy Gel Bright Plus.

HOW TO USE

Use morning and evening after lotion. Apply approximately 2 pumps over the face and gently spread until absorbed, paying additional attention to areas of dryness or visible fine lines. Follow with moisturiser and SPF during the day.

Cleanse → VC+ Lotion → VC+ Essence → VC+ Cream → SPF

The formula contains Orange essential oil, giving it the subtle natural citrus aroma characteristic of the VC+ range. Very fragrance-sensitive skin should keep this in mind.
