Dr. Medion SpaOxy Gel is the brand’s signature two-part carbonated gel mask, designed as an intensive treatment for dull, tired or dehydrated skin.

Each treatment combines a Gel + Powder immediately before application, creating the freshly activated carbonated formula characteristic of the SpaOxy range. The gel remains in contact with the skin for 15–30 minutes, while hydrolysed Hyaluronic Acid, Royal Jelly and a blend of botanical extracts provide complementary moisturising and skin-conditioning care.  

The result is an intensive at-home treatment for skin that looks tired, dull, uneven or less supple and needs more than the usual daily skincare routine.

Why I like SpaOxy Gel

Because this is the original intensive SpaOxy experience and still the most versatile treatment in the range.

Rather than targeting one specific concern such as pigmentation or congestion, I recommend it when the overall condition of the skin needs attention — dullness, dehydration, visible pores, uneven texture and loss of suppleness often appear together.

It is particularly useful when skin looks tired or lacklustre, during periods when everyday skincare doesn’t feel quite enough, or before an event when you want the complexion to look especially fresh and luminous.

My recommendation: VC Essence+ can be applied before SpaOxy Gel when you want to add a more concentrated Vitamin C step to the treatment. Apply the essence first, allow it to settle, then continue with the freshly mixed SpaOxy Gel.

Who is it for?

SpaOxy Gel is the most universal option within the SpaOxy mask range and is particularly suited to dull, tired or dehydrated skin.

I recommend it when the concerns are broader — lack of radiance, uneven texture, visible pores, dryness or loss of suppleness — rather than primarily pigmentation or congestion.

It is also a useful occasional treatment when skin looks fatigued or before an event when you want a fresher, smoother and more luminous-looking complexion.

SpaOxy Gel or SpaOxy Dualgel VC+?

Both use Dr. Medion’s freshly activated carbonated treatment concept, but the format and focus are different.

SpaOxy Gel — the original intensive 15–30 minute Gel + Powder treatment for overall radiance, hydration, texture and revitalised-looking skin.

SpaOxy Dualgel VC+ — the quicker 10-minute, multi-use format with three Vitamin C derivatives and a stronger focus on radiance and uneven-looking tone.

Choose SpaOxy Gel when you want the complete intensive treatment, or Dualgel VC+ when convenience and regular Vitamin C-focused care are the priority.

How to use

Empty one Gel sachet into the included mixing cup. Add one Powder sachet and mix thoroughly with the spatula until the formula becomes white and frothy.

Apply a generous, even layer to freshly cleansed skin. Leave on for 15–30 minutes.

Gently remove the majority of the gel with the spatula, then remove any remaining product with a warm, damp cloth. Continue with your usual skincare routine.  

Use 1–2 times per week for regular maintenance or whenever skin needs an intensive treatment. Dr. Medion also recommends courses of 3, 7 or 10 consecutive treatments followed by weekly maintenance.  

Good to know

Unlike SpaOxy Dualgel VC+, each SpaOxy Gel treatment is individually portioned into separate Gel and Powder sachets and freshly mixed immediately before application.

The formula contains a small amount of ethanol and aromatic Japanese Rose Oil.
