WHY I LIKE SPAOXY DUALGEL

Because it solves the one drawback of the original SpaOxy Gel: time and preparation.

The original treatment is intentionally ritualistic — open the Gel and Powder, mix them in a cup, apply a generous layer and leave it on for 20–30 minutes. Dualgel was developed for those days when you still want the benefits of freshly activated carbonated skincare but don't have time for the full treatment.

Dr. Medion introduced SpaOxy Dualgel in 2019 as the first spray-type carbonated gel mask, allowing the two components to remain separate inside the container and combine only when you are ready to use them.

It is quicker, adjustable and particularly useful for regular maintenance or targeted treatment of specific areas.

WHO IS SPAOXY DUALGEL FOR?

HOW DOES THE DUALGEL SYSTEM WORK?

The clever part is the packaging.

Instead of combining a Gel sachet with a separate Powder, SpaOxy Dualgel keeps two gel components separate inside the dispenser. Press the pump and both are released together.

Mix them in the palm of your hand and the two formulas react, creating a freshly activated carbonated treatment immediately before it reaches the skin.

This gives Dualgel the convenience of a ready-to-use product while preserving one of the fundamental ideas behind SpaOxy skincare: the carbon dioxide is generated when you use the treatment rather than long before it reaches your face.

CO₂ + BOTANICAL SKINCARE

Carbon dioxide remains the central technology. Once the two gels are mixed, freshly generated CO₂ is held within the formula and applied directly to the skin.

The original Dualgel is also supported by a broad botanical complex including Licorice Root, Artichoke Leaf, Saxifraga, Beetroot, Green Tea, Black Soybean and other plant extracts, selected to support brightness, hydration and overall skin condition.

Licorice Root is particularly useful for dull and uneven-looking skin, while Artichoke Leaf is commonly used in Japanese pore-focused skincare. The wider antioxidant botanical blend helps make Dualgel more than simply a convenient CO₂ delivery system.

WHAT ABOUT PORES & DULLNESS?

This is where Dualgel fits particularly well into a regular routine.

Carbonated skincare is associated with the temporary circulation response that gives SpaOxy treatments their characteristic fresh, revitalised appearance, while the supporting botanical ingredients target dullness and uneven skin condition.

For visible pores, the aim isn't to permanently “close” them — pores don't work that way. Instead, improving hydration, surface smoothness and the overall condition of the surrounding skin can make them appear less prominent.

Dualgel is especially convenient if the nose and cheeks are your main areas of concern because you don't need to prepare a complete full-face treatment every time.

SPAOXY DUALGEL vs SPAOXY GEL

Both are freshly activated carbonated treatments, but they are designed for different occasions.

SpaOxy Gel is the more intensive treatment: Gel and Powder are freshly mixed, applied generously and left on for approximately 20–30 minutes. SpaOxy Dualgel is the quicker multi-use version: dispense only what you need, mix the two gels in your palm and treat the skin for around 10 minutes.

I would think of SpaOxy Gel as the intensive treatment and Dualgel as the easy maintenance treatment. Dr. Medion itself has historically recommended using the two for separate purposes rather than treating one as a replacement for the other.

WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?

Once the two gels are mixed and applied, you may notice the familiar SpaOxy tingling, warmth or temporary flushing associated with the freshly activated carbonated treatment.

Some people feel this more strongly than others. Temporary redness can occur as circulation increases and should settle after treatment. If redness persists or the skin becomes genuinely uncomfortable, rinse the product away.

As always, more tingling doesn't mean more benefit.

HOW TO USE SPAOXY DUALGEL

Dispense both gels into the palm of your hand and mix them together thoroughly to activate the treatment.

Apply an even layer over the face, neck or specific areas you want to target and leave for approximately 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, then continue with your usual skincare.

Because the dispenser is multi-use, simply adjust the amount according to the area you want to treat rather than preparing a fixed single-dose mask.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I USE IT?

SpaOxy Dualgel was specifically created as the more convenient everyday version of Dr. Medion's carbonated treatment, so it can be incorporated much more easily into a regular routine than the original 20–30 minute SpaOxy Gel.

Use it over the full face when the complexion needs an overall refresh, or simply dispense a smaller amount for targeted areas such as the nose and cheeks.

It can also be alternated with the original SpaOxy Gel: Dualgel for quick regular maintenance, SpaOxy Gel when you want the full intensive treatment.

ORIGINAL DUALGEL vs DUALGEL VC+

The original SpaOxy Dualgel established Dr. Medion's convenient dual-dispensing CO₂ format. The newer SpaOxy Dualgel VC+ builds on that concept with a denser foam and three forms of Vitamin C, giving it a stronger focus on pigmentation, uneven tone, pores and brightening.

So if you have the original 100 g Dualgel, I would position it as the quick everyday CO₂ treatment for radiance, pores and general skin revitalisation, while VC+ is its more targeted Vitamin C-focused successor.
