WHY I LIKE MOISTURE CLEANSING GEL
Because cleansing is where a good skincare routine can go wrong before it has even properly started.
We need to remove:
makeup
SPF
excess sebum
pollution
and everyday debris.
But we do not need to remove every trace of the skin's protective lipids along with them.
That squeaky-clean, tight feeling some cleansers leave behind?
I don't consider that a sign of exceptionally clean skin.
Quite often, it means we have simply cleansed too aggressively.
Moisture Cleansing Gel was developed around a much more sensible idea:

PENTAVITIN® — THE MOISTURE MAGNET
Pentavitin® is the trade name for Saccharide Isomerate, one of the key hydrating ingredients associated with this cleanser.

we wash the cleanser off.

cleanse the skin without immediately creating a hydration problem that your next five products have to repair.
THREE HUMAN-TYPE CERAMIDES — RESPECTING THE BARRIER
Moisture Cleansing Gel contains:

Ceramide AP.
Ceramides are lipids naturally present within the skin barrier.
They form part of the structure helping the outer skin retain water and defend itself against environmental stress.
When barrier lipids become depleted, the skin can become:

more sensitive

and less effective at retaining moisture.
Which is precisely why cleansing matters.
If your cleanser repeatedly strips the barrier and your moisturiser spends the rest of the routine trying to repair the consequences, we have created a rather unnecessary skincare circle.

clean effectively, but don't unnecessarily dismantle the barrier while doing it.
TRIPLE HYALURONIC ACID
Dr. Medion doesn't use just one form of Hyaluronic Acid here.
The formula contains:

Hydrolysed Hyaluronic Acid.
These different forms vary in molecular structure and behaviour within the skin's outer layers.

BETAINE — QUIETLY USEFUL FOR SENSITIVE SKIN
Betaine is another humectant and skin-conditioning ingredient in the formula.

It may not have the marketing fame of Hyaluronic Acid or Ceramides, but these quieter supporting ingredients are often what make the difference between a cleanser that looks good on an ingredient list and one that actually feels good every day.

ACETYL HYDROXYPROLINE
Moisture Cleansing Gel also contains Acetyl Hydroxyproline.
Hydroxyproline is an amino acid strongly associated with collagen structure, while its acetylated derivative is used in skincare for conditioning and elasticity-supporting benefits.
But because this is a cleanser, I want to keep the claim realistic.
I would not buy Moisture Cleansing Gel because I expect a rinse-off product to remodel my collagen.
Its presence simply adds another skin-conditioning element to an already very thoughtfully moisturising formula.
The stars here remain:
effective cleansing + hydration + barrier preservation.
WHAT ABOUT THE PORES?
There is another interesting ingredient hiding quite far down the formula:
Sodium Bicarbonate — baking soda.
Dr. Medion includes it to help gently loosen sebum and debris accumulated around the pores, giving the cleanser a mild keratin-care element alongside its makeup-removing function.
I would keep expectations sensible.
This is not an aggressive pore treatment.
It is not an acid peel.
And it will not make pores disappear.
What it can do is help remove some of the material that makes pores look:
dirty
congested
or more noticeable.
Which is exactly what I want a daily cleanser to do.
DOES IT REMOVE MAKEUP?
Yes.
Moisture Cleansing Gel was specifically developed to function as both:
makeup remover + facial cleanser.
Massage the gel thoroughly over the face, paying particular attention to areas with makeup and SPF, then rinse.
For ordinary daily makeup, that means you generally do not need to follow with a second facial cleanser.
If you wear very heavy or waterproof eye makeup, however, I would still use a dedicated eye makeup remover first. Dr. Medion has made the same recommendation for heavier eye makeup.
There is no need to make your entire face endure an unnecessarily aggressive cleanse because your mascara happens to be exceptionally determined.
DO I NEED TO DOUBLE CLEANSE?
No.
And this is one of the biggest practical differences between Moisture Cleansing Gel and SpaOxy Foaming Wash.
Dr. Medion explicitly identifies Moisture Cleansing Gel as a double-cleansing-not-required formula.
That means:
one product → makeup removal + facial cleansing.
For dry, sensitive or dehydrated skin, I particularly like this approach.
Every additional cleansing step means more:
water exposure.
surfactant exposure.
rubbing.
and potential removal of protective lipids.
If one gentle cleanse does the job properly, there is no skincare law requiring you to wash your face twice.

Both are Dr. Medion cleansers.
But I would choose them for slightly different people.

Neither is universally “better.”
The right one depends on your skin and what you want from cleansing.
CAN OILY SKIN USE IT?
Yes.
A moisturising cleanser is not exclusively for dry skin.
Oily skin still has a barrier.
Oily skin can still become dehydrated.
And aggressively stripping oily skin is rarely the cleverest long-term strategy.
If you have very oily skin and love the sensation of foam, you may personally prefer SpaOxy Foaming Wash.
But if your skin is:
oily + dehydrated
or
oily + sensitive,
Moisture Cleansing Gel can make a lot of sense.
Oil production and hydration are two different things.
CAN SENSITIVE SKIN USE IT?
Yes.
Dr. Medion specifically developed the formula with sensitive skin in mind.
The formula is made without:
alcohol
synthetic fragrance
synthetic colourants
parabens
and mineral oil.
However, it does contain Orange Oil.
So if you know that your skin reacts specifically to citrus essential oils or fragrance components, keep that individual sensitivity in mind.
Sensitive skin is a category.
It is not one identical skin type shared by everyone.
WHY DOES MY SKIN FEEL TIGHT AFTER CLEANSING?
Usually because something has disturbed the balance between:
cleansing enough
and
cleansing too much.
Hot water, harsh surfactants, excessive washing and repeated rubbing can all contribute.
When too much surface lipid is removed, water escapes more easily and the skin may immediately feel:
tight
dry
or uncomfortable.
That feeling should not be your measure of cleanliness.
A well-formulated cleanser should leave your face feeling:
clean + soft + comfortable.
Not as though smiling has suddenly become a stretching exercise.
HOW TO USE MOISTURE CLEANSING GEL
Take an appropriate amount — approximately 3–4 cm of product — into dry hands.
Gently massage it over the entire face, allowing the gel to thoroughly dissolve makeup, SPF and impurities.
Spend a little extra time around areas where makeup or congestion tends to accumulate.
There is no need to scrub.
Once everything has been properly emulsified and loosened, rinse thoroughly with water or lukewarm water.
The European Dr. Medion instructions also allow the cleanser to be removed with a warm, damp towel.
Then continue with your skincare.
Simple:
Moisture Cleansing Gel → massage gently → rinse → lotion/essence → serum → moisturiser.
And in the morning:
finish with SPF.
CAN I USE IT MORNING AND NIGHT?
Yes.
Dr. Medion's European directions recommend use morning and evening.
But your routine should still respond to your skin.
If you have very dry or sensitive skin and wake up comfortable in the morning, you may prefer simply rinsing with water and reserving your proper cleanse for the evening.
If your skin benefits from cleansing twice daily, use it twice.
There is no universal rule saying every face must be cleansed with product exactly the same number of times.
CAN I USE IT BEFORE SPAOXY GEL OR DUALGEL VC+?
Absolutely.
In fact, it makes an excellent preparation step.
Your intensive treatments should generally be applied to properly cleansed skin.

MY MOISTURE CLEANSING GEL RULES
Clean does not mean squeaky.
Tightness after cleansing is not the goal.
You do not need to double cleanse with this product.
It is specifically designed to remove makeup and cleanse the skin in one step.
Three human-type Ceramides support a barrier-conscious approach to cleansing.
Three forms of Hyaluronic Acid provide multi-level hydration support.
Pentavitin® is the moisture-retention star of the formula.
Oily skin can still be dehydrated.
Do not automatically assume oily skin needs the harshest cleanser available.
Pores do not need to be scrubbed into submission.
Sodium Bicarbonate provides mild support for removing accumulated pore debris.
Heavy waterproof eye makeup may still need a dedicated remover.
Use lukewarm rather than very hot water.
Massage — don't scrub.
And most importantly:
your cleanser should prepare your skin for skincare, not create a problem your skincare then has to fix.
