Dr. Medion SpaOxy Gel Matcha is a limited-edition carbonated gel mask combining freshly activated CO₂ with Japanese Matcha, Vitamin C and Salicylic Acid for skin that looks dull, congested or uneven.

The two-part Gel + Powder treatment is mixed immediately before application, creating the freshly activated carbonated formula characteristic of the SpaOxy range. Antioxidant-rich Matcha is combined with pore-focused Salicylic Acid, Ascorbic Acid and a blend of fermented, hydrating and skin-conditioning ingredients.

The result is an intensive 20–30 minute treatment designed to leave skin looking fresher, smoother, clearer and more balanced.  

Why I like SpaOxy Gel Matcha

Because it gives the SpaOxy treatment a much more specific purpose.

Matcha and Vitamin C provide antioxidant care, while Salicylic Acid makes this version particularly interesting when dullness appears alongside clogged pores, blemishes or uneven texture.

The gel component balances that more purifying focus with hydrolysed Hyaluronic Acid, squalane, rice-derived ingredients and ferment filtrate for additional hydration and skin-conditioning support.

That combination makes Matcha a particularly good SpaOxy option for combination, oily or blemish-prone skin that can still be dehydrated or sensitive-feeling.

My recommendation: because the treatment already contains Salicylic Acid and Vitamin C, I prefer to keep the rest of the routine simple on treatment days rather than layering multiple additional actives. Follow with hydrating and moisturising products according to your skin’s needs.

Key ingredients

Japanese Matcha
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder provides the formula’s distinctive Matcha component. Green tea is naturally rich in antioxidant polyphenols, making it particularly relevant for skin affected by dullness and visible imbalance.

Salicylic Acid
A BHA used to support clearer-looking pores and improve the appearance of congestion, making this version particularly interesting for oily, combination and blemish-prone skin.

Vitamin C

Who is it for?

SpaOxy Gel Matcha is particularly suited to dull or tired-looking skin where congestion, blemishes, visible pores or uneven texture are also concerns.

It is a good choice for oily and combination complexions, including skin that experiences both excess oil and dehydration. Dr. Medion also identifies redness, sensitive skin and imbalanced skin among the concerns this treatment is designed for.  

SpaOxy Gel Matcha or original SpaOxy Gel?

Both use Dr. Medion’s freshly activated Gel + Powder CO₂ treatment, but their focus is different.

SpaOxy Gel Matcha — more targeted towards clogged pores, blemish-prone skin, uneven texture and dullness, with Matcha, Vitamin C and Salicylic Acid.

Original SpaOxy Gel — the more universal SpaOxy treatment when the priority is overall radiance, hydration and smoother-looking skin.

Choose Matcha when congestion and blemishes are particular concerns, or the original when you want a more general-purpose SpaOxy treatment.

How to use

Open one Gel sachet and one Powder sachet and mix them thoroughly until the texture is even.

Apply a generous, even layer to cleansed skin and leave on for 20–30 minutes.

Gently remove the mask and rinse away any remaining product with water. Continue with your usual skincare routine.

Use once weekly for regular maintenance. Dr. Medion also recommends 5–10 consecutive days when following the treatment as an intensive course.  

Good to know

The formula contains Salicylic Acid alongside Vitamin C, Matcha and B vitamins, while the gel component includes hydrolysed Hyaluronic Acid, squalane and fermented rice-derived ingredients.  

The manufacturer describes the Matcha edition as suitable for sensitive skin, although individual tolerance to Salicylic Acid can vary.
