Carbonated scalp treatment for buildup, excess sebum & dryness

Dr. Medion Head Spa Scalp is an intensive pre-shampoo carbonated treatment inspired by Japanese head spa care, designed to deeply cleanse and refresh the scalp without overlooking hydration.

Dense CO₂ foam combines with Bentonite and Kaolin clays to absorb excess sebum and impurities that regular shampoo may not fully remove. Pentavitin® and a multivitamin complex provide complementary moisture and conditioning care, helping leave the scalp feeling clean, fresh and balanced rather than simply stripped.

After rinsing, hair feels fresher and fuller, while shampoo can lather more easily during the following cleansing step.

Pentavitin®
Saccharide Isomerate is a moisture-binding ingredient that helps support scalp hydration. Dr. Medion particularly positions it for dryness, flaking and excess oil.  

Beaoplex® VH multivitamin complex
The formula contains Niacinamide (B3), Pyridoxine (B6), a Pantothenic Acid derivative (B5), Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C derivative) and Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E derivative), providing antioxidant and conditioning care.  

Glycolic Acid
Also present in the formula as part of its scalp-care complex.

Who is it for?

Head Spa Scalp is particularly useful for oily scalps, excess sebum and scalp buildup, including people who regularly use dry shampoo or styling products.

It can also be useful when the scalp experiences dryness or flaking, as the formula combines its clay-based cleansing action with moisture-supporting Pentavitin®.

I recommend it when the roots frequently feel heavy or congested, or when regular shampoo alone doesn’t leave the scalp feeling completely refreshed.

The complete Head Spa routine

The three Head Spa products perform different roles within the routine:

Head Spa Scalp — intensive pre-shampoo treatment used 1–2 times weekly for deeper scalp cleansing and care
Head Spa Shampoo — regular carbonated foam cleanse for the scalp and hair
Head Spa Treatment — post-shampoo conditioning and repair for the hair lengths

Use all three for the complete Head Spa routine, or Head Spa Shampoo + Treatment as your regular wash routine.

How to use

Use 1–2 times per week before shampooing.

Wet the scalp and hair thoroughly with warm water. Without shaking the container, dispense approximately a 7 cm diameter amount of foam into your palm.

Apply directly to the scalp and leave for 2–3 minutes. Massage gently, then rinse thoroughly with warm water before shampooing.  

Follow with Head Spa Shampoo and Head Spa Treatment for the complete routine.

Good to know

The aromatic profile combines Pine, Eucalyptus and Orange, with Lavender, Peppermint and Clary Sage oils also present in the formula. Those who prefer fragrance-free scalp care may wish to take this into consideration.
