Gentle, specialised support for your body while it heals.

After surgery, your body is already doing an enormous amount of work. Swelling, fluid retention, heaviness and a feeling of tightness or pressure in the tissues can all be part of the recovery process.

Post-Op Lymphatic Drainage is a carefully adapted treatment designed to support lymphatic flow and help the body manage post-surgical swelling and fluid accumulation.

The movements are rhythmic and intentional, following the pathways of the lymphatic system while respecting tissues that are still healing. As your recovery progresses, the treatment evolves with you — supporting drainage, circulation, tissue mobility and a gradual return of comfort and vitality to the body.

This treatment is performed per zone. Rather than trying to work the entire body within one appointment, each session focuses specifically on the area affected by your procedure and the relevant surrounding lymphatic pathways. If several areas require attention, we can create an appropriate treatment plan across multiple sessions.

When can it help?

Post-Op Lymphatic Drainage may be supportive during recovery following different types of surgery, including:

  • Cosmetic & aesthetic surgery — liposuction, abdominoplasty, breast procedures and body contouring
  • Orthopaedic surgery — including knee, hip and shoulder procedures
  • Gynaecological procedures
  • General surgery where post-operative swelling or fluid retention is present

Depending on your procedure and stage of recovery, sessions may help support post-operative swelling and fluid retention, feelings of heaviness or pressure, tight or uncomfortable tissues, lymphatic flow and circulation, and tissue comfort and mobility during recovery.

Every recovery is different. What your body needs shortly after surgery may be very different from what it needs several weeks later.

Gentle, but not necessarily sensation-free

The lymphatic system doesn't require deep force — but recovering tissues can be sensitive.

After surgery, areas may feel tender, tight or unfamiliar. I work slowly and attentively, adapting the pressure, rhythm and areas treated according to your procedure, healing stage, sensitivity and how your tissues present on the day.

Recently operated or vulnerable areas are never approached as though they were ordinary muscular tension.

The intention is to work with your recovering body, not against it.

A personalised recovery approach

Your first appointment begins with a conversation about your procedure, when it was performed, how your recovery is progressing and any instructions you have received from your surgeon or medical team.

From there, I adapt each session to what your body needs at that particular stage.

Early sessions may be shorter and particularly gentle. As swelling decreases and tissues continue to heal, the duration, areas treated and approach can evolve accordingly.

Massage is not performed directly over open, wet, draining or incompletely healed wounds. If there is any uncertainty about whether treatment can begin, clearance from your surgeon or medical team will be required.

There is no standard post-op massage — because there is no standard recovery.

Recovery Course — 9 + 1

Post-operative lymphatic drainage is often most useful as consistent recovery support rather than a single isolated appointment.

Complete 9 Post-Op Lymphatic Drainage sessions within 3 months and receive your 10th session complimentary.

The duration and treatment zone can be adapted throughout the course according to your stage of recovery and what your body needs.

Prices apply per treatment zone. The appropriate duration depends on the area treated, the type of procedure and your stage of recovery.

Important before booking

Post-Op Lymphatic Drainage is supportive bodywork and does not replace medical post-operative care.

Please follow your surgeon's or medical team's instructions regarding when lymphatic drainage may begin. For recent surgery, I may ask for clearance or specific guidance before treatment.

Treatment should be postponed and your medical team contacted if you experience unusual or rapidly increasing swelling, significant redness or heat, fever, wound complications, unexplained or increasing pain, shortness of breath or other concerning symptoms.

Your safety and recovery always come before the treatment plan.
