Mediplorer CO₂ Carboxytherapy - Oxygen & Glow
When your skin looks tired even when you're not.
Sometimes your skin doesn't feel particularly dry or problematic -it simply seems to have lost its energy. The complexion can look dull or grey, texture may appear less smooth, fine lines become more noticeable and that naturally fresh, healthy glow is harder to find.
Stress, lack of sleep, seasonal changes, travel and demanding periods of life can all leave their mark on the face.
Mediplorer CO₂ Carboxytherapy is designed to give tired-looking skin a wake-up call - by working with the body's own physiological response to carbon dioxide.
From Japanese research to professional skincare
Mediplorer's story began in Japan in 1997, when Dr. Masato Hioki was researching the use of carbon dioxide in relation to skin and wound care and became interested in its potential cosmetic applications.
The challenge was finding a way to deliver freshly generated CO₂ to the skin without injections. After extensive formulation research, this led to the development of a specialised gel capable of generating and retaining carbon dioxide - technology that became the foundation of the CO₂ Gel Mask and the Mediplorer skincare line, launched in 1999.
Today, the technology developed by Medion Research Laboratories is protected through an international patent portfolio and remains at the heart of Mediplorer's professional skincare approach.
How does CO₂ carboxytherapy work?
It sounds slightly contradictory at first:
Why would we use carbon dioxide when what we want is better oxygenation?
Immediately before application, the Mediplorer gel and powder are mixed together, creating fresh CO₂ within the gel. The freshly activated mask is applied directly to the skin, where it remains for approximately 30 minutes.
The principle behind the treatment involves the body's natural response to increased carbon dioxide.
CO₂ encourages local vasodilation and microcirculation. At the same time, increased CO₂ influences the relationship between haemoglobin and oxygen: haemoglobin releases oxygen more readily into surrounding tissues - a normal physiological mechanism known as the Bohr effect. Medion describes these mechanisms, together with transdermal CO₂ delivery, as central to its technology.
So we aren't simply putting oxygen onto the surface of your face.
CO₂ on the outside. A response from within.
That is what makes this treatment so interesting.
Professional skincare, touch & technology
In my treatments, Mediplorer carboxytherapy isn't simply a mask that is applied and removed.
I incorporate it into a complete facial combining professional skincare, specialised facial massage and carefully selected Japanese beauty technology.
Facial massage helps release muscular tension, encourage circulation and bring relaxation and lightness to the face. Particular attention can be given to areas where we tend to hold tension — the jaw, temples, forehead, scalp, neck and facial muscles.
Depending on your skin and what we want to achieve, the treatment can also incorporate Clione Fit technology:
EMS - Electrical Muscle Stimulation
Gently stimulates the facial muscles, supporting tone and a firmer, more defined-looking facial contour.
Radiofrequency - RF
Gently warms the tissues and is used to support skin firmness, elasticity and a smoother appearance.
Electroporation
Temporarily increases skin permeability, helping compatible professional serums and active skincare ingredients pass more effectively through the skin's outer barrier.
Red & Blue LED Light
Provides targeted light care selected according to the skin - red light for a rejuvenating and revitalising focus, and blue light where oily or blemish-prone skin requires a different approach.
Mid-Frequency Pulsation
Creates rhythmic stimulation that complements the other selected technologies and the overall facial treatment.
Not every technology needs to be used simply because it is available.
Your skin determines the treatment - not the machine.
What you may notice afterwards
This is a treatment for those moments when you want to look in the mirror and see freshness again.
The complexion can appear brighter and more even, while the skin may feel smoother, hydrated and revitalised. Tired or dull-looking skin can regain a healthier-looking colour and luminosity, and fine lines may appear softened as the skin becomes more hydrated and refreshed.
It's also not exclusively an “anti-ageing” treatment. Younger skin can look exhausted too.
This makes Mediplorer particularly interesting before an event, after travel, during stressful or exhausting periods, through seasonal changes, or simply whenever your face doesn't seem to reflect how you would like to feel.
Why Mediplorer fits my approach
What I particularly appreciate about Mediplorer is the philosophy behind the technology.
Rather than relying on aggressive resurfacing or simply adding another layer of product to the skin, carboxytherapy uses CO₂ to encourage a physiological response within the skin itself.
That fits naturally within my approach to Holistic Skincare: combining science and professional skincare with skilled touch, relaxation and respect for the body's own processes.
Each session is individually adapted to your skin, bringing together Mediplorer CO₂ carboxytherapy, professional skincare, specialised facial massage and carefully selected beauty technology in one complete treatment.
