Meder Red-Apax Intensive Calming & Anti-Redness Sheet Mask for Sensitive, Reactive & Rosacea-Prone Skin

Meder Red-Apax Intensive Calming & Anti-Redness Sheet Mask for Sensitive, Reactive & Rosacea-Prone Skin

Order by request

When your skin needs calming down — not another active ingredient to fight with.

Red-Apax Mask is MEDER’s intensive calming, anti-redness and microbiome-supporting sheet mask, designed for sensitive, reactive skin that flushes, feels hot, becomes irritated easily or simply seems to object to everything.

It is particularly useful when redness is triggered by heat, cold, wind, stress, spicy food, hormonal changes or environmental exposure, and for skin prone to rosacea-related redness and discomfort.

The formula combines Japanese Sake Ferment, Panthenol, Calendula, Chamomile, Centella Asiatica, Hyaluronic Acid and Skinasensyl® Peptide to calm visible redness while supporting hydration, skin comfort and barrier resilience.

I think of it as:

calm → cool → hydrate → support → strengthen.

Each box contains 5 individually packed masks.

WHY I LIKE RED-APAX MASK

Because sensitive skin does not usually need more stimulation.

It needs less drama.

When skin is already red, hot, irritated or reactive, the temptation is sometimes to keep adding products in an attempt to “fix” it.

More acids.

More actives.

More treatments.

More exfoliation.

And eventually the skin says:

absolutely not.

Red-Apax takes the opposite approach.

Its focus is on reducing visible redness, calming discomfort, supporting the microbiome and helping the skin become less reactive to everyday triggers.

So rather than trying to force sensitive skin into submission, we are helping restore the environment it needs to behave more normally.

WHO IS RED-APAX MASK FOR?

I particularly like it for:

Sensitive skin
When the skin reacts easily to products or environmental changes.

Visible redness
When the complexion regularly looks flushed or uneven because of redness.

Reactive skin
When seemingly small triggers cause disproportionate irritation.

Rosacea-prone skin
As supportive cosmetic skincare for redness, sensitivity and discomfort.

Hot, uncomfortable skin
When the face feels warm, irritated or generally unhappy.

Menopausal flushing
When hormonal changes contribute to sudden facial heat and redness.

Weather-triggered sensitivity
When cold, wind, heat or sudden temperature changes make the face flush.

Stress-related flushing
When your emotional state appears on your face before you have decided whether you wanted to share it.

Post-sun exposure
When the skin needs soothing and hydration after excessive environmental exposure.

Before an event
Especially if you know stress or excitement tends to make your face flush.

Skin recovering from irritation
When the priority is restoring comfort rather than introducing more aggressive actives.

MEDER specifically positions Red-Apax for all skin types and genders, including people prone to rosacea and women experiencing menopausal facial flushing.

WHY DOES SENSITIVE SKIN BECOME RED?

Redness is essentially the visible result of changes happening underneath the surface.

Blood vessels can dilate.

Inflammatory signalling increases.

Nerve endings may become more reactive.

The skin barrier may become less effective.

And the microbiome can shift.

That is why sensitive skin can react to things that perfectly normal skin barely notices:

cold air

hot rooms

wind

spicy food

stress

alcohol

skincare

or simply washing your face.

The problem is not that your skin is being “difficult.”

Its threshold for reacting is simply lower.

Red-Apax is designed around helping calm that over-reactive environment.

SENSITIVE SKIN & REACTIVE SKIN — ARE THEY THE SAME?

They overlap, but they are not necessarily identical.

Some people naturally have sensitive skin all the time.

Others have skin that is normally quite tolerant but becomes reactive because of:

over-exfoliation.

retinoids.

weather.

stress.

aesthetic treatments.

barrier damage.

or using far too many products at once.

So you can have:

naturally sensitive skin

or

temporarily sensitised skin.

Red-Apax can be useful in both situations because the priority is similar:

reduce irritation + restore comfort + support resilience.

JAPANESE SAKE FERMENT — THE MICROBIOME CONNECTION

This is probably the most distinctive ingredient in Red-Apax Mask.

The formula contains Saccharomyces/Rice Ferment Filtrate, derived from the fermentation process associated with traditional Japanese sake.

MEDER uses this fermented ingredient specifically within its microbiome-focused strategy for sensitive skin.

Why is that interesting?

Because our skin is not sterile.

Its surface is home to a complex community of microorganisms collectively known as the skin microbiome.

When that ecosystem is balanced, it forms part of the skin’s normal protective environment.

When the balance becomes disrupted, sensitivity, inflammation and barrier problems can become more difficult to manage.

The sake ferment in Red-Apax is intended to help support a healthier microbial environment while improving skin comfort.

So this is not simply:

“put something soothing on red skin.”

There is a microbiome strategy behind it.

WHAT EXACTLY IS THE SKIN MICROBIOME?

Your skin is home to billions of microorganisms.

Bacteria.

Fungi.

Other microscopic residents.

That sounds slightly alarming until you realise they are supposed to be there.

A healthy microbiome forms part of the ecosystem that helps support:

barrier function

immune regulation

protection

and normal skin behaviour.

The goal is not to disinfect the face until nothing survives.

In fact, excessive cleansing and aggressive skincare can sometimes disrupt the balance we are trying to maintain.

MEDER has built much of its sensitive-skin philosophy around this idea:

healthy skin needs a healthy microbial ecosystem.

And Red-Apax Mask fits directly into that approach.

PANTHENOL — THE COMFORT INGREDIENT

Panthenol is pro-vitamin B5.

It is one of those ingredients that may not sound particularly glamorous, but sensitive skin tends to appreciate it enormously.

Panthenol helps support:

hydration

barrier recovery

softness

and skin comfort.

When skin feels hot, tight or irritated, hydration alone is not always enough.

We also want ingredients that help create a calmer, more comfortable surface.

That is exactly where Panthenol earns its place.

CALENDULA — CLASSIC CALMING SUPPORT

Calendula has a long history of use in soothing skincare.

Its flower extract is particularly associated with calming irritated and sensitive skin.

In Red-Apax, Calendula complements the microbiome-focused ingredients by addressing the visible irritation and discomfort side of sensitivity.

Think:

less angry-looking skin.

Which, scientifically speaking, is not the official terminology.

But visually, you know exactly what I mean.

CHAMOMILE — FOR IRRITATED, REACTIVE SKIN

Chamomile is another botanical with a long history of use in calming skincare.

Red-Apax contains Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract, helping support skin that feels irritated or uncomfortable.

Calendula and Chamomile work beautifully together because neither is trying to aggressively transform the skin.

They are there to help it:

settle.

Sometimes that is exactly what sensitive skin needs.

CENTELLA ASIATICA — CICA FOR CALMING & RECOVERY

Centella Asiatica — often called CICA — is one of the best-known ingredients for sensitive and compromised skin.

It is widely used to support:

soothing

skin recovery

barrier comfort

and resilience.

In Red-Apax, Centella gives us another layer of calming support alongside Calendula, Chamomile and Panthenol.

This multi-layered approach is important.

Sensitive skin rarely has only one problem.

We may be dealing simultaneously with:

redness + discomfort + dehydration + barrier weakness + reactivity.

So we want the formula working from several directions.

SKINASENSYL® — TURNING DOWN THE SENSITIVITY RESPONSE

Skinasensyl® is Acetyl Tetrapeptide-15, a peptide specifically developed for sensitive and reactive skin.

Its role is particularly interesting because sensitivity is not only about what we can see.

It is also about what we feel.

Burning.

Stinging.

Heat.

Tightness.

Discomfort.

Sensitive skin can perceive normal environmental stimuli much more intensely than resilient skin.

Skinasensyl® is used to help reduce this excessive sensitivity response and improve skin comfort.

So while some ingredients are calming visible redness, Skinasensyl® helps address the reactivity behind the experience of sensitive skin.

HYALURONIC ACID — BECAUSE SENSITIVE SKIN STILL NEEDS WATER

Sensitive skin is frequently dehydrated.

And dehydration can make sensitivity worse.

When the barrier is compromised, the skin may lose water more easily, creating:

tightness

roughness

and increased discomfort.

Hyaluronic Acid helps maintain hydration and gives the skin a softer, smoother, more comfortable surface.

This matters because our goal is not simply:

less red.

We want:

less red + less tight + better hydrated + more comfortable.

WHY DOES BARRIER HEALTH MATTER SO MUCH?

Think of your skin barrier as your outer protective wall.

A healthy barrier helps keep:

water in

and unnecessary irritants out.

When that barrier becomes compromised, the skin may lose water more easily while allowing environmental triggers to penetrate more readily.

The result can be:

dryness

stinging

redness

itching

and increased sensitivity.

That is why sensitive-skin care should not revolve exclusively around suppressing redness.

We also need to improve the conditions that allow the skin to become more resilient over time.

Red-Apax Mask supports that process through hydration, calming ingredients and microbiome-friendly care.

WHAT ABOUT ROSACEA?

Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that can involve:

persistent redness

flushing

visible blood vessels

bumps or pustules

burning or stinging

and increased skin sensitivity.

Red-Apax Mask can be useful as supportive skincare for rosacea-prone skin because its formula is specifically designed around redness, sensitivity and reactivity.

But skincare is not the same thing as medical treatment.

MEDER itself makes this distinction with the Red-Apax range.

If you have diagnosed or suspected rosacea, particularly if symptoms are persistent or worsening, dermatological assessment matters.

Think of Red-Apax as:

supportive calming skincare alongside appropriate medical care when needed.

Not:

a replacement for rosacea treatment.

MENOPAUSAL FLUSHING — WHY RED-APAX CAN BE USEFUL

Hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause can affect the skin in several ways.

For some women, hot flushes are accompanied by sudden facial redness, heat and discomfort.

MEDER specifically recommends Red-Apax Mask for this type of menopausal flushing.

The combination of soothing botanicals, fermented ingredients, hydration and Skinasensyl® makes it particularly appropriate when the face feels:

hot

red

sensitive

and reactive.

It cannot stop the hormonal hot flush itself.

But it can help calm the skin response accompanying it.

Important distinction.

WHAT ABOUT STRESS-RELATED REDNESS?

This is another area where Red-Apax makes a lot of sense.

Stress can trigger facial flushing because the nervous system and vascular response are closely connected.

You become nervous.

Your blood vessels dilate.

Your face becomes red.

Then you notice that your face is red.

Which makes you more nervous.

Which makes you redder.

Wonderful system.

Red-Apax cannot remove the stressful situation.

But helping calm the skin’s visible reactivity can make that cycle considerably easier to manage.

CAN I USE IT WHEN MY SKIN FEELS HOT?

Yes.

This is one of the situations where Red-Apax is particularly appealing.

MEDER describes the mask as helping reduce the sensation of heat and discomfort associated with redness and sensitivity.

A cool sheet mask can also feel wonderfully soothing when the skin is flushed.

You do not need to freeze it.

We are calming your face, not preserving it for archaeological research.

WHY A SHEET MASK?

The organic bamboo-fibre sheet keeps a generous amount of calming gel in continuous contact with the skin for approximately 20 minutes.

Each MEDER sheet mask contains approximately 30 ml of active gel.

That is roughly the volume of a standard facial serum concentrated into one intensive treatment.

The mask also wraps around the chin and secures behind the ears, keeping the sheet comfortably in place.

So you can move around if you want.

Although if your skin is red because you have had an exceptionally stressful day, twenty quiet minutes may not be the worst prescription.

RED-APAX MASK + RED-APAX ACTIVE SERUM

These two have the same overall concern but very different formulas.

And this distinction is worth understanding.

RED-APAX ACTIVE SERUM

Think:

daily correction of persistent redness and sensitivity.

The current serum uses Northern Truffle Mushroom Extract and the Ecoskin™ symbiotic complex to target redness, discomfort and microbiome balance.

RED-APAX MASK

Think:

intensive weekly calming and recovery treatment.

The mask uses Japanese Sake Ferment, Panthenol, Calendula, Chamomile, Centella, Hyaluronic Acid and Skinasensyl®.

So:

ACTIVE SERUM = daily redness and reactivity management.

MASK = weekly intensive calming support.

Same concern.

Different technologies.

They complement each other rather than simply repeating the same formula.

DO I NEED RED-APAX ACTIVE SERUM?

No.

Red-Apax Mask works perfectly well as a standalone treatment when your sensitivity or redness is:

occasional

trigger-related

or something you simply want to calm once or twice per week.

If redness, rosacea-prone sensitivity or reactivity is an ongoing concern, the daily Red-Apax Active Serum makes much more sense as part of a consistent routine.

The mask gives you the intensive treatment.

The serum gives you the repetition.

HOW TO USE RED-APAX MASK

Use once or twice per week.

Start with properly cleansed skin.

Apply your serum or active care product if you are using one.

Carefully unfold one Red-Apax Mask and position it over the face.

Secure the side openings around the ears, pull the lower section underneath the chin and secure the second pair of loops.

Leave it on for approximately 20 minutes.

Remove the mask and do not rinse.

Gently massage the remaining active gel into the skin, then finish with your appropriate MEDER moisturiser.

Simple:

Cleanse → serum/active care → Red-Apax Mask → 20 minutes → massage in remaining gel → moisturiser.

WHAT SHOULD I COMBINE IT WITH?

For a complete MEDER sensitive-skin routine, Red-Apax Mask fits beautifully alongside:

Net-Apax for gentle cleansing.

Soin-Apax for lightweight calming serum care.

Red-Apax Active Serum when persistent redness and reactivity need targeted daily treatment.

Salva-Derm for moisturising, barrier-supportive care.

You do not necessarily need every product.

Choose according to what your skin actually needs.

Sensitive skin generally appreciates a simple, consistent routine far more than a bathroom shelf containing seventeen different actives.

CAN I USE IT BEFORE AN EVENT?

Absolutely.

This is particularly useful if you are someone whose face becomes red when you are:

nervous.

excited.

hot.

rushing.

or preparing for an important occasion.

Red-Apax is specifically positioned as a useful pre-event treatment because of its immediate calming effect.

Use it before makeup when you want the complexion looking:

calmer

more even

better hydrated

and less visibly reactive.

CAN I USE IT AFTER SUN EXPOSURE?

Red-Apax can be useful for soothing skin that feels irritated or flushed after environmental exposure.

But there is an important distinction between:

slightly hot, stressed skin

and

a significant sunburn.

Severe sunburn is an injury.

Do not treat blistering, severe pain or extensive burns as a simple cosmetic skincare concern.

And once the skin has calmed down:

SPF.

Because preventing unnecessary UV inflammation is considerably easier than repeatedly trying to calm it afterwards.

CAN I USE IT WITH MICROCURRENT?

Yes.

MEDER sheet masks can be incorporated into appropriate microcurrent routines.

As always, follow the instructions for the specific professional or home device you are using.

CAN SENSITIVE SKIN REALLY USE A SHEET MASK?

Yes — provided the formula is actually designed for sensitive skin.

A sheet mask increases contact between the formula and the skin.

That can be wonderful when the formula contains ingredients your skin appreciates.

It can be considerably less wonderful when the formula contains something your skin dislikes.

Red-Apax is specifically formulated around sensitivity, redness and reactivity, which is exactly why this mask exists.

DO I RINSE AFTERWARDS?

No.

After approximately 20 minutes, remove the sheet and gently massage the remaining gel into the skin.

Then follow with your moisturiser.

The remaining gel is part of the treatment.

Do not rinse away all that calming goodness immediately afterwards.

CAN I LEAVE IT ON LONGER?

There is no need.

Approximately 20 minutes is the recommended treatment time.

Leaving a sheet mask on until it becomes completely dry does not automatically make it more effective.

Remove it while it is still comfortably moist, massage in the remaining gel and finish your routine.

CAN I REUSE IT?

No.

Each Red-Apax Mask is designed for one treatment only.

If there is excess active gel remaining in the sachet, use it over the:

neck

décolleté

or other appropriate areas.

But do not put a used sheet back into its sachet.

One mask.

One face.

One treatment.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

Red-Apax is designed to provide immediate calming and comfort.

After one treatment, irritated or reactive skin may look:

less red

more even

better hydrated

and generally calmer.

The skin may also feel:

cooler

softer

and more comfortable.

MEDER also describes improved resilience and better control of reactivity following treatment.

For persistent sensitivity or rosacea-prone redness, however, think beyond a single mask.

The real goal is not simply:

“make me less red for tonight.”

It is:

help create skin that reacts less dramatically over time.

That requires a consistent, barrier-friendly routine.

MY RED-APAX MASK RULES

Sensitive skin usually needs calming, not more stimulation.

Redness is not always just a surface problem.
Vascular response, nerve sensitivity, inflammation, barrier health and the microbiome can all play a role.

Japanese Sake Ferment supports the microbiome-focused side of the formula.

Panthenol helps hydrate, comfort and support the barrier.

Calendula and Chamomile help calm irritation.

Centella Asiatica supports sensitive, stressed skin.

Skinasensyl® helps address excessive skin reactivity and discomfort.

Hyaluronic Acid keeps sensitive skin hydrated.

Rosacea is a medical skin condition.
Red-Apax can support rosacea-prone skin but does not replace appropriate medical treatment.

Menopausal flushing and skin redness are related but not identical.
The mask can calm the skin response; it cannot stop the hormonal hot flush itself.

The mask and active serum have different formulas.
Serum = daily redness management. Mask = intensive weekly calming.

Use it once or twice weekly.

Leave it on for approximately 20 minutes.

Do not rinse afterwards.

Each sheet is single-use.

And remember: one box contains FIVE individually packed masks.
That gives you 5 complete Red-Apax treatments per box.

THE BOTTOM LINE

Red-Apax Mask is the one I reach for when the skin looks red, feels hot, reacts too easily or simply needs everything to become considerably quieter.

Japanese Sake Ferment supports the skin microbiome.

Panthenol hydrates and comforts.

Calendula and Chamomile help calm irritation.

Centella Asiatica supports sensitive, stressed skin.

Hyaluronic Acid replenishes hydration.

And Skinasensyl® helps reduce the excessive reactivity that makes sensitive skin feel so unpredictable.

The result we want is:

less visible redness.

less discomfort.

better hydration.

a stronger-feeling barrier.

calmer-looking skin.

And eventually, skin that does not feel the need to react dramatically to every change in temperature, stressful email or spicy dinner.

Use it during periods of increased sensitivity, before an event, when environmental triggers have left the complexion flushed or as your regular weekly treatment if redness and reactivity are ongoing concerns.

And because each box contains 5 individually packed masks, you have five complete intensive calming treatments ready for the moments when your skin needs them most.
