Meder Derma-Fill Lightweight Prebiotic Hydrating Moisturiser

Meder Derma-Fill Lightweight Prebiotic Hydrating Moisturiser

Order by request

Sometimes your skin doesn't need a heavier cream. It needs more water, better protection and a healthier barrier.

Derma-Fill is probably one of the easiest MEDER creams to love because it doesn't belong to one particular skin type.

It's lightweight.

It's oil-free.

It gives the skin an immediate fresh, plumped appearance.

And it can work beautifully whether your skin is dry, oily, sensitive, dehydrated or somewhere in between.

But I don't want you to think of Derma-Fill as simply a nice light moisturiser.

Its real strength is hydration + barrier support + microbiome support.

It helps the skin hold onto water, supports its protective barrier, and creates a healthier environment for the microorganisms naturally living on its surface.

And because the texture is so light, we can use it in several different ways.

For some people, Derma-Fill is the only moisturiser they need.

For others, it's an additional hydration layer underneath another MEDER cream.

And for some, it's the perfect daytime moisturiser when a richer cream simply feels like too much.

I think of it as:

hydrate → plump → strengthen → protect.

WHY I LIKE DERMA-FILL

One of the biggest skincare misunderstandings is that dry skin and dehydrated skin are the same thing.

They're not.

Dry skin lacks enough oil or lipids.

Dehydrated skin lacks enough water.

And that means you can have:

dry + dehydrated skin

but also:

oily + dehydrated skin.

Yes — your face can be shiny and still desperately need hydration.

This is where Derma-Fill becomes incredibly useful.

Instead of adding a heavy layer of oil, we're giving the skin lightweight hydration while supporting its ability to hold onto that water.

That's why I can use Derma-Fill on such different clients.

The question isn't necessarily:

"Is your skin oily or dry?"

Sometimes the more useful question is:

"Is your skin actually holding enough water?"

WHO IS DERMA-FILL FOR?

Honestly, almost everybody can find a place for Derma-Fill.

I particularly like it for skin that is:

Dehydrated
When the skin lacks water and starts feeling tight, looking dull or showing fine dehydration lines.

Normal
When you simply want comfortable everyday hydration without a heavy cream.

Oily
When your skin needs water but doesn't tolerate rich or oily moisturisers well.

Combination
When some areas become oily while others feel tight or dehydrated.

Sensitive
When we want lightweight hydration without unnecessarily overwhelming reactive skin.

Dry
As an additional hydration layer underneath a richer moisturiser.

Mature
When declining water retention is making lines and texture appear more pronounced.

Environmentally stressed
Particularly if you're exposed to pollution, air conditioning, heating, travel or other dehydrating environments.

Makeup-wearing
When you want a smooth, hydrated base without a heavy layer underneath foundation.

Male skin or post-shave skin
When a lightweight, comfortable moisturiser is preferable to a traditional rich cream.

It's one of those products I can fit into many routines because it solves a very basic problem:

skin needs water.

DRY OR DEHYDRATED — WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

This is worth understanding because it completely changes the way we choose skincare.

DRY SKIN

Dry skin is generally associated with lower sebum production and insufficient lipids.

It may feel:

rough.

tight.

flaky.

uncomfortable.

And it often benefits from richer creams containing oils, ceramides and other barrier-supporting lipids.

For genuinely dry skin, I may eventually reach for something like Arma-Derm.

DEHYDRATED SKIN

Dehydration is about water.

The skin may look:

dull.

creased.

tired.

less plump.

Fine lines can suddenly become much more visible.

And here's the important part:

dehydrated skin can still be oily.

That's why covering every dehydrated face with a heavy cream doesn't always make sense.

Derma-Fill gives us a way to increase hydration without automatically adding heaviness.

HOW CAN OILY SKIN BE DEHYDRATED?

Because oil and water are not the same thing.

Sebaceous glands produce sebum.

They do not produce the water your skin needs for proper hydration.

So somebody can have plenty of oil sitting on the surface while still having inadequate water within the upper layers of the skin.

This happens particularly when oily skin is being over-treated.

Strong cleansers.

Too many acids.

Aggressive acne products.

Alcohol-heavy formulas.

Constant mattifying.

Repeated exfoliation.

The client sees oil and keeps trying to remove it.

Meanwhile the skin becomes increasingly dehydrated.

The result can be a frustrating combination of:

shine + tightness + congestion + visible dehydration lines.

Adding more drying products isn't necessarily the answer.

Sometimes oily skin needs us to stop fighting it and simply give it water and barrier support.

That's one reason Derma-Fill works so beautifully in oily-skin routines.

WHAT DOES DERMA-FILL ACTUALLY DO?

The first thing it does is hydrate.

The current formula contains different forms of hyaluronic acid designed to help attract and retain water within the skin.

That gives us the immediate plumping effect.

But hydration is only useful if the skin can hold onto it.

So Derma-Fill also contains lecithin to support the skin's lipid mantle and barrier function.

Then we have Bioecolia® prebiotic, supporting the microbiome.

PRO-COLL-ONE+®, a soy-derived peptide technology, adds support for collagen preservation and skin resilience.

And Chlorella algae extract gives us additional antioxidant and environmental-protection support.

So Derma-Fill isn't simply:

put water into skin → skin looks plumper.

It's more like:

hydrate → help retain moisture → support the barrier → support the microbiome → protect the skin environment.

That's what makes it a much more complete everyday moisturiser.

WHAT DOES “PLUMPING” ACTUALLY MEAN?

This is one of those skincare words that can sound more dramatic than it is.

When skin is dehydrated, the surface can look slightly collapsed.

Fine lines become more obvious.

Texture looks rougher.

The skin doesn't reflect light as evenly.

Once we restore water, those upper layers become better hydrated and the skin appears smoother and fuller.

That's what we mean by plumping.

We're not injecting volume into the face.

We're not changing facial anatomy.

And Derma-Fill isn't a topical filler.

We're simply restoring enough hydration that the skin looks fuller, smoother and healthier.

Sometimes that alone makes a surprisingly big difference.

WHAT ABOUT FINE LINES?

Derma-Fill can make certain fine lines appear noticeably softer.

But we need to understand which lines.

If a line is being exaggerated by dehydration, restoring water can make it look much less pronounced.

That's why somebody can apply a good hydrating product and suddenly think:

"My wrinkles look better."

They probably do.

But we haven't rebuilt the entire dermis in twenty minutes.

We've improved the hydration and surface appearance of the skin.

For true structural wrinkles, expression wrinkles or age-related collagen loss, we may need targeted Active Care such as Myo-Fix, Arma-Lift or Vita-Long 2.0, depending on the problem.

Derma-Fill's job is different.

It makes sure dehydration isn't making everything look worse than it needs to.

WHY DOES THE MICROBIOME MATTER IN A MOISTURISER?

Because moisturising isn't only about adding water.

Your skin is an ecosystem.

Billions of microorganisms naturally live on its surface, forming part of what we call the skin microbiome.

A healthy microbiome interacts with:

barrier function.

skin comfort.

immune defence.

inflammation.

and resilience.

When that ecosystem is repeatedly disturbed by aggressive cleansing, environmental stress or inappropriate skincare, the skin may become more vulnerable.

Derma-Fill contains Bioecolia® prebiotic to help support beneficial microorganisms.

And I like this approach because we're not simply making the surface feel soft.

We're thinking about the health of the environment underneath that softness.

WHAT ABOUT THE SKIN BARRIER?

Think of your skin barrier as the protective outer wall of your skin.

Its job is partly to:

keep useful things in

and

keep harmful things out.

Water is one of the useful things we want to keep in.

When barrier function is compromised, water escapes more easily.

The skin becomes more prone to:

tightness.

dehydration.

irritation.

sensitivity.

rough texture.

And environmental stress.

Derma-Fill supports the barrier through hydration and lipid-supporting ingredients such as lecithin.

So again, we're not only pouring water into a leaking bucket.

We're also trying to make the bucket better at holding water.

HOW TO USE DERMA-FILL

Derma-Fill is incredibly easy to fit into a routine.

MEDER classifies face cream as Step 7, so it comes after your cleanser, everyday serum and any targeted Active Care product you're using.

STEP 1 — CLEANSE

Start with Energy-Net or Net-Apax according to your skin.

STEP 2 — APPLY YOUR EVERYDAY SERUM

Use Energy-Soin or Soin-Apax according to sensitivity and your individual routine.

STEP 3 — APPLY YOUR ACTIVE CARE

If you're using Hydra-Fill, Red-Apax, Eu-Seb, Lipo-Oval, Arma-Lift, Myo-Fix or Vita-Long 2.0, apply your targeted product before Derma-Fill.

STEP 4 — APPLY DERMA-FILL

Apply a small amount evenly over the face and neck.

Smooth it gently over the skin and allow it to absorb.

STEP 5 — DECIDE IF YOU NEED ANOTHER CREAM

For many people, Derma-Fill is enough on its own.

If your skin needs more nourishment or protection, follow it with the MEDER cream selected for your skin.

And this order matters:

Derma-Fill first → richer cream second.

STEP 6 — SPF

During the day, finish with appropriate sun protection.

CAN DERMA-FILL REALLY GO UNDER ANOTHER CREAM?

Yes.

And this is one of my favourite ways to use it.

MEDER specifically recommends applying Derma-Fill first when combining it with another face cream.

Think of Derma-Fill as the hydration layer.

Then the second cream gives us whatever else your skin needs.

For example:

Derma-Fill → Arma-Derm
When dry skin needs both water and richer lipid support.

Derma-Fill → Salva-Derm
When sensitive skin needs additional hydration plus calming barrier support.

Derma-Fill → appropriate targeted moisturiser
When we want lightweight hydration underneath more specialised care.

This is particularly useful in winter, after travel, during periods of dehydration or whenever your usual moisturiser suddenly doesn't seem quite enough.

Instead of immediately replacing your entire routine, sometimes we simply add another layer of water support underneath it.

DO I NEED ANOTHER CREAM AFTER DERMA-FILL?

Not necessarily.

This depends completely on your skin.

If you're oily, combination or normal, Derma-Fill may be all the moisturiser you need.

Especially in summer.

Especially underneath SPF.

Especially if you hate feeling heavy cream on your face.

If your skin is genuinely dry, mature or lipid-deficient, Derma-Fill may not provide enough nourishment on its own.

In that case, I use it as the hydrating base and apply a more appropriate cream afterwards.

That's why I don't like asking:

"Is Derma-Fill a cream or a hydration booster?"

It can be both.

How we use it depends on what your skin needs.

YOUR MORNING ROUTINE

A simple routine might look like:

1. Energy-Net / Net-Apax

2. Energy-Soin / Soin-Apax

3. Your targeted Active Care, if prescribed

4. Derma-Fill

5. Additional MEDER cream if needed

6. SPF

If you're oily or it's very warm outside, Derma-Fill underneath SPF may be more than enough.

YOUR EVENING ROUTINE

If you're wearing substantial makeup:

1. Remove your makeup

2. Energy-Net / Net-Apax

3. Energy-Soin / Soin-Apax

4. Your targeted Active Care

5. Derma-Fill

6. Additional moisturiser if your skin needs it

Or you may use Derma-Fill during the day and choose a richer or more specialised MEDER cream at night.

There isn't one rigid formula.

The routine should respond to your skin and your environment.

WHAT'S INSIDE IT?

The upgraded Derma-Fill formula is more sophisticated than its very simple texture suggests. MEDER currently highlights PRO-COLL-ONE+®, hyaluronic acid, Bioecolia®, lecithin and Chlorella extract.

HYALURONIC ACID

Hyaluronic acid is naturally present within our tissues and is particularly valuable because of its relationship with water.

In skincare, different forms and molecular sizes of hyaluronic acid can help hydrate different levels of the outer skin.

The result we're looking for is:

more water → better plumping → smoother texture → less visible dehydration.

But hyaluronic acid isn't "filling" your wrinkles like an injectable filler.

The shared name causes endless confusion.

Topical hyaluronic acid = hydration and plumping.

Injectable hyaluronic-acid filler = physical volume placed into tissue by injection.

Very different jobs.

BIOECOLIA® PREBIOTIC

Bioecolia® is an alpha-glucan oligosaccharide prebiotic.

Think of a prebiotic as something that helps create favourable conditions for the beneficial microorganisms naturally living on the skin.

This supports a healthier microbiome and complements the skin barrier.

And because Derma-Fill is often used every single day, I like having microbiome support built into such a basic step.

We're not treating the microbiome once a month.

We're supporting it as part of normal skincare.

PRO-COLL-ONE+®

PRO-COLL-ONE+® is a peptide technology derived from soy fibres.

And this is an interesting addition to the newer Derma-Fill formula.

Instead of simply focusing on producing more collagen, MEDER describes this peptide as helping suppress enzymes involved in collagen breakdown.

That's an important distinction.

Healthy skin structure isn't only about:

How much collagen can we make?

It's also about:

How well can we preserve the collagen we already have?

So Derma-Fill now gives us some structural-support value alongside its main hydration role.

I still wouldn't call it a replacement for targeted age-well Active Care.

But it's a lovely additional benefit in an everyday moisturiser.

LECITHIN

Lecithin is a lipid-related ingredient that helps support the skin's protective surface and improve softness and suppleness.

This is particularly useful because hydration and barrier function are closely connected.

We don't only want to attract water.

We want the skin to become better at keeping it.

Think of lecithin as part of the formula's barrier-supporting side.

CHLORELLA ALGAE EXTRACT

Chlorella is a nutrient-rich microalgae.

MEDER includes it particularly for its antioxidant and urban environmental-protection role.

This makes sense in Derma-Fill because the product is designed to sit on the skin during the day, when we're exposed to:

pollution.

particulate matter.

environmental oxidative stress.

and other elements of city life.

I don't want to call any skincare ingredient a magical "detox."

Your liver and kidneys are doing the actual detoxification work in your body.

A better way to understand Chlorella here is:

antioxidant and environmental support for skin exposed to modern urban life.

WHAT DOES “ANTI-POLLUTION” SKINCARE ACTUALLY MEAN?

This is another term that can become very marketing-heavy.

Your moisturiser isn't creating an invisible force field around your face.

Pollution can contribute to oxidative stress and can interact with the skin surface in ways that aggravate barrier damage and premature ageing.

So anti-pollution skincare generally aims to help by:

supporting the barrier

providing antioxidant defence

reducing adhesion or impact of environmental particles

and helping the skin remain more resilient.

Derma-Fill combines hydration, barrier support and Chlorella-derived antioxidant protection for this purpose.

This is particularly useful if you live or work in a busy urban environment.

But it doesn't mean cleansing becomes optional.

At the end of the day, I still want the city washed off your face.

WHAT IS THE “GLASS SKIN” EFFECT?

MEDER describes Derma-Fill as giving a glass-skin finish.

And thankfully, this doesn't mean making your face look shiny like you've covered it in cooking oil.

The idea is skin that looks:

smooth

plump

fresh

well hydrated

and naturally reflective of light.

When the skin surface is dehydrated and rough, light scatters unevenly.

When the surface becomes smoother and better hydrated, it reflects light more evenly.

That's where that healthy luminosity comes from.

So for me, "glass skin" isn't really about shine.

It's about healthy-looking hydration.

WHY DO MAKEUP ARTISTS LIKE DERMA-FILL?

Because makeup usually behaves better on hydrated skin.

Foundation sitting over dry, flaky or dehydrated skin tends to:

catch.

separate.

emphasise texture.

settle into fine lines.

And generally make the very things you're trying to disguise more visible.

Derma-Fill creates a smooth, hydrated surface without leaving a thick oily layer underneath makeup.

That's why MEDER specifically positions it as a makeup primer as well as a moisturiser.

Apply it.

Allow it to settle.

Then continue with SPF and makeup.

The goal isn't to create another heavy layer.

It's to give your foundation a better piece of skin to sit on.

CAN I USE DERMA-FILL WITH SPF?

Absolutely.

In fact, this is one of the situations where Derma-Fill is particularly useful.

Rich moisturiser + SPF + makeup can sometimes become too much, especially in warm weather.

Derma-Fill gives us a lightweight hydration step underneath sunscreen without creating unnecessary heaviness.

The order is:

Derma-Fill → SPF → makeup

And remember:

Derma-Fill itself is not sunscreen.

Hydrated skin still needs UV protection.

IS DERMA-FILL GOOD FOR SUMMER?

Very much so.

This is one of my favourite times to use it.

In warmer weather, skin may still need hydration while rich creams suddenly feel uncomfortable underneath sunscreen.

Derma-Fill gives us:

water without weight.

That makes it particularly useful for:

hot weather.

humid climates.

oily skin.

combination skin.

under SPF.

under makeup.

And if your skin becomes drier again in winter, we don't necessarily need to abandon Derma-Fill.

We simply put a richer cream over it.

WHAT ABOUT WINTER?

Winter creates a different problem.

Cold air outside.

Heating inside.

Lower humidity.

Repeated temperature changes.

All of these can increase water loss and leave the skin feeling much tighter.

For some people, Derma-Fill alone will no longer be enough.

That's completely fine.

This is where layering becomes useful.

For example:

Derma-Fill → Arma-Derm

or

Derma-Fill → Salva-Derm

depending on your skin.

So the product doesn't suddenly become wrong because the season changed.

We simply change how we use it.

CAN I USE DERMA-FILL AFTER SHAVING?

Yes.

MEDER specifically identifies Derma-Fill as useful as a post-shave gel because of its light, comfortable texture.

Shaving temporarily removes part of the superficial barrier along with the hair, which can leave skin feeling:

tight.

dry.

warm.

or uncomfortable.

A lightweight hydrating product can therefore feel much more pleasant than a heavy fragranced aftershave product.

If your skin is very irritated after shaving, however, we may need to look at the shaving technique and the rest of your routine too.

Moisturiser can help.

But I'd rather stop repeatedly creating the irritation in the first place.

DERMA-FILL AND TRAVEL

This is another situation where I really like it.

Aircraft cabins are extremely dry environments.

Long periods in air conditioning or heated hotel rooms can also leave skin feeling dehydrated very quickly.

Derma-Fill works beautifully as a lightweight travel moisturiser because we can re-establish hydration without covering the skin in something excessively rich.

And once you arrive somewhere colder or drier, we can simply add another cream over it.

Again:

hydration first → nourishment when needed.

CAN DERMA-FILL CLOG MY PORES?

Derma-Fill is specifically designed as a lightweight, oil-free moisturiser, which is one reason I like it for oily and congestion-prone skin.

Of course, no cosmetic product can guarantee that every single person on earth will react identically.

Skin is individual.

But if you're avoiding moisturiser because you're convinced that any hydration will automatically create breakouts, Derma-Fill is exactly the type of texture I would rather introduce.

Acne-prone skin still needs:

water.

barrier support.

and a healthy microbiome.

We just need to provide those things without unnecessary heaviness.

DERMA-FILL OR ARMA-DERM?

These two solve different problems.

CHOOSE DERMA-FILL IF...

The main issue is:

dehydration

lightweight hydration

surface plumping

oily or combination skin needing water

makeup preparation

or you want an extra hydration layer underneath another cream.

Think:

WATER.

CHOOSE ARMA-DERM IF...

The skin is genuinely:

dry

lipid-deficient

flaky

mature

or needs richer nourishment and barrier support.

Think:

WATER + LIPIDS + NOURISHMENT.

And sometimes dry, dehydrated skin needs both.

Then we use:

Derma-Fill → Arma-Derm

DERMA-FILL OR SALVA-DERM?

Again, different priorities.

DERMA-FILL

Best when the main concern is lightweight hydration and plumping.

SALVA-DERM

Best when the skin is primarily sensitive, reactive and in need of calming barrier support without being particularly oily or dry.

If sensitive skin is also very dehydrated, I may layer:

Derma-Fill → Salva-Derm

We don't have to force one cream to solve every problem.

DERMA-FILL OR EQUA-DERM?

This distinction is especially useful for oily skin.

DERMA-FILL

Choose it when oily skin mainly needs hydration.

The skin is shiny but may also feel tight or dehydrated.

EQUA-DERM

Choose it when we specifically need to address excessive sebum production, enlarged-looking pores and oily-skin imbalance.

So:

oily + dehydrated → Derma-Fill may be perfect

oily + excessive sebum / enlarged pores → Equa-Derm may make more sense

And in some routines, we may use different creams at different times of day.

The label "oily skin" doesn't tell me everything I need to know.

WHEN WILL I SEE A DIFFERENCE?

Hydration is one of the skincare benefits you can often see relatively quickly.

After application, the skin should feel:

softer

smoother

more comfortable

more supple

and look fresher and plumper.

Fine dehydration lines may appear softer quite quickly simply because the skin is holding more water.

Longer-term benefits — microbiome support, barrier resilience and maintaining better skin quality — depend on consistent use.

But Derma-Fill isn't a 10-week corrective programme in the same way as one of the MEDER Active Care concentrates.

You can use it every day, morning and evening, for as long as your skin benefits from it. MEDER specifically positions it for routine daily use.

MY DERMA-FILL RULES

If you remember nothing else from this page, remember these:

Oil and water are not the same thing.
Oily skin can absolutely be dehydrated.

Don't automatically reach for a richer cream when your skin feels tight.
Sometimes what you're missing is water rather than oil.

Derma-Fill can be your moisturiser.
You don't necessarily need another cream afterwards.

But it can also be your hydration layer.
If you need more nourishment, apply Derma-Fill first and your richer MEDER cream second.

Hydration can soften fine lines.
But don't confuse topical plumping with injectable filling or structural wrinkle correction.

It's excellent under makeup.
Well-hydrated skin generally gives foundation a much smoother surface.

It's excellent under SPF.
Particularly when richer creams feel too heavy during the day.

Support the microbiome.
Healthy skin isn't sterile skin.

Don't forget the barrier.
Putting water into skin is only half the job — we also want the skin to become better at keeping it there.

THE BOTTOM LINE

Derma-Fill is the product I want you to think of when your skin needs more water without necessarily needing more weight.

That's what makes it so versatile.

Your skin can be oily and need Derma-Fill.

Dry and need Derma-Fill.

Sensitive and need Derma-Fill.

Mature and need Derma-Fill.

Or perfectly normal and simply look better with Derma-Fill.

We're restoring hydration.

We're supporting the barrier.

We're supporting the microbiome.

We're helping protect the skin from everyday environmental stress.

And we're creating that smooth, plump, healthy surface that makes skin look naturally fresh.

For some people, that's enough.

For others, Derma-Fill becomes the first moisturising layer, with another cream over it.

And that's exactly why I like it.

It doesn't force every skin into the same box.

It gives the skin water — and then we decide what else it actually needs.

DERMA-FILL AT A GLANCE

What is it?
A lightweight, oil-free prebiotic hydrating moisturiser for all skin types.
