The original SpaOxy carbonated treatment — with an intensive brightening focus.
Dr. Medion SpaOxy Gel Bright Plus is an advanced version of the brand’s signature freshly activated CO₂ gel mask, created specifically for skin affected by pigmentation, uneven tone, dullness, visible pores and UV-related damage.
Each treatment consists of a Gel + Powder mixed immediately before application, generating fresh carbon dioxide within the gel. Bright Plus combines this signature CO₂ technology with two forms of Vitamin C, including APPS, alongside Hyaluronic Acid, Royal Jelly, Squalane, Licorice Root and antioxidant botanical extracts.
The result is skin that looks brighter, clearer, smoother, firmer and more even-toned, with a fresh luminosity that makes Bright Plus particularly good when pigmentation and dullness are your main concerns.
Think activate → revitalise → brighten → refine → glow.
Box contains 6 complete treatments.
WHY I LIKE SPAOXY GEL BRIGHT PLUS
Because it gives the original SpaOxy treatment a much more specific purpose.
SpaOxy Gel is an excellent all-round revitalising treatment for dullness, dehydration, texture and loss of vitality. Bright Plus is the one I would choose when pigmentation and uneven skin tone move higher up the priority list.
You still get the freshly activated carbonated treatment, but it is combined with a concentrated Vitamin C strategy designed for skin affected by sun exposure, dark spots, dullness and uneven tone.
It is particularly useful when the complexion doesn't simply look tired — it looks tired, uneven and less luminous than it used to.
WHO IS SPAOXY GEL BRIGHT PLUS FOR?
Pigmentation and dark spots
The strongest reason to choose Bright Plus over the original SpaOxy Gel. Vitamin C and Licorice Root support a clearer, more even-looking complexion.
Dull or uneven skin tone
Ideal when the skin has lost its brightness or looks tired and flat.
Visible pores and uneven texture
Hydration, Vitamin C and the carbonated treatment help improve overall smoothness and refinement.
UV-stressed skin
A good intensive treatment when accumulated sun exposure has contributed to pigmentation, dullness and loss of radiance.
Loss of firmness
The combination of CO₂ technology and Vitamin C makes Bright Plus particularly interesting when firmness and brightness are both concerns.
Dry or dehydrated skin
Hydrolysed Hyaluronic Acid, Royal Jelly and Squalane provide hydration and conditioning alongside the brightening ingredients.
Mature or ageing skin
Especially when ageing concerns include pigmentation, uneven tone, reduced firmness and dullness.
Before an event
An excellent intensive treatment when you want the complexion looking particularly clear, smooth and luminous.
APPS + VITAMIN C
The ingredient that really separates Bright Plus from the original SpaOxy Gel is APPS — Trisodium Ascorbyl Palmitate Phosphate, an advanced Vitamin C derivative with both water- and lipid-compatible properties.
Vitamin C provides antioxidant protection, supports collagen production and helps target pathways involved in excess pigmentation, making it particularly relevant when brightening and ageing concerns overlap.
Bright Plus doesn't rely on APPS alone. The Powder also contains Ascorbic Acid, giving the treatment two complementary forms of Vitamin C.
This is why I think of Bright Plus as more than simply “SpaOxy Gel for glow.” It is the pigmentation and Vitamin C-focused version of the original treatment.
CO₂ + VITAMIN C
When the Gel and Powder are mixed, carbon dioxide is freshly generated inside the gel. The formulation helps retain this CO₂ against the skin throughout the treatment.
An increase in local CO₂ is associated with changes in haemoglobin's affinity for oxygen — a physiological mechanism related to the Bohr effect — encouraging oxygen to be released more readily into surrounding tissues. This is why carbon dioxide treatments are associated with microcirculation and tissue oxygenation.
At the same time, Bright Plus delivers its Vitamin C complex and supporting skincare ingredients to the skin, combining CO₂ revitalisation with targeted antioxidant and brightening care.
Importantly, this is not literally an “oxygen mask.” The mask provides carbon dioxide; the oxygenation effect relates to the body's physiological response to CO₂.
LICORICE, HYALURONIC ACID & ROYAL JELLY
Bright Plus also contains Licorice Root Extract, which complements Vitamin C particularly well in a pigmentation-focused formula. Licorice is known for its brightening, soothing and antioxidant properties, making it useful when uneven pigmentation and inflammation overlap.
Hydrolysed Hyaluronic Acid supports hydration, while Royal Jelly Extract and Squalane help condition, soften and maintain skin comfort.
The formula also includes Soybean, Grape Seed and Ginseng extracts, alongside Tocopherol and other supporting ingredients, giving Bright Plus a good balance between brightening, hydration and antioxidant support rather than simply trying to attack pigmentation aggressively.
WILL IT REMOVE PIGMENTATION?
Bright Plus can help reduce the appearance of dark spots and uneven pigmentation, but pigmentation is rarely something one mask permanently removes.
Vitamin C works best as part of a consistent brightening routine, particularly when combined with diligent daily sun protection. If you are treating pigmentation while repeatedly exposing the skin to UV without adequate SPF, you are simultaneously trying to correct and recreate the same problem.
I would therefore use Bright Plus as an intensive brightening treatment within a broader pigmentation routine, rather than expecting it to replace daily skincare and sunscreen.
WHAT ABOUT PORES & TEXTURE?
Bright Plus is also a good choice when visible pores, roughness and uneven texture appear alongside pigmentation and dullness.
No mask can permanently close or erase pores. What we can improve is the condition of the skin surrounding them. Better hydration, smoother texture and improved firmness can make pores appear less prominent and the overall complexion more refined.
If pores are your primary concern without pigmentation, the original SpaOxy Gel may already be sufficient. If you have visible pores + pigmentation + dullness, Bright Plus becomes the more targeted choice.
WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?
Once applied, you may notice the characteristic SpaOxy fizzing, tingling or warming sensation as the freshly activated treatment sits on the skin.
The intensity varies considerably from person to person, and stronger tingling does not mean the mask is working better.
Bright Plus also has a fresh citrus-floral aroma with essential oils including Grapefruit, Neroli and Orange, giving it a bright, uplifting sensory character. If you know your skin is particularly sensitive to essential oils or fragranced skincare, keep that individual sensitivity in mind.
HOW TO USE SPAOXY GEL BRIGHT PLUS
After cleansing, empty one Gel sachet + one Powder sachet into the supplied mixing cup and combine thoroughly with the spatula until evenly mixed.
Apply a generous, thick and even layer over clean, dry skin, avoiding the immediate eye and mouth areas.
Leave for approximately 15–30 minutes, then gently remove most of the gel with the spatula. Remove the remainder with a warm, damp cloth and continue with your usual skincare.
Cleanse → mix Gel + Powder → apply generously → leave 15–30 minutes → remove → skincare.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I USE IT?
For regular maintenance, Bright Plus can be used 1–2 times per week. It can also be incorporated into a short intensive course when pigmentation, dullness or uneven texture need more focused attention.
Alternatively, use it occasionally whenever you want a particularly fresh and luminous complexion — for example before an event, after travel or whenever the skin looks dull and depleted.
Consistency is particularly important when pigmentation is the concern, and daily SPF should always accompany a brightening routine.
CAN I COMBINE IT WITH VC ESSENCE+?
Yes. VC Essence+ is a particularly natural pairing with Bright Plus when you want a more concentrated Vitamin C-focused routine.
I would keep the rest of the routine relatively simple. There is little reason to combine an intensive carbonated Vitamin C treatment with several strong exfoliating acids, retinoids or other potentially irritating actives at the same time.
Bright Plus already provides plenty of activity on its own.
WHAT'S INSIDE THE BOX?
Each box contains 6 complete SpaOxy Gel Bright Plus treatments: 6 individually portioned Gel sachets + 6 Powder sachets, together with a mixing cup and spatula. One Gel and one Powder are mixed immediately before use to create one freshly activated carbonated Vitamin C mask.
SPAOXY GEL vs SPAOXY GEL BRIGHT PLUS
Both use Dr. Medion's freshly mixed Gel + Powder CO₂ system, but their emphasis is different.
SpaOxy Gel is the all-rounder for revitalisation, hydration, firmness, texture and radiance, while SpaOxy Gel Bright Plus adds two forms of Vitamin C, including APPS, making it the more targeted choice for pigmentation, uneven tone, UV-related dullness and brightening.
If your skin simply looks tired, choose SpaOxy Gel. If it looks tired and unevenly pigmented, choose Bright Plus.
